The Sheffield Property Shop

All Council and Housing Association properties available to rent are advertised on this website each week.

To place bids on properties, please complete the 2 part on-line application:
1 - First register your household.

2 - Apply for Social Housing.


Once your completed application is received, we will carry out relevant checks to validate your information. Identification will be required as part of this process.

Homsey HouseConfirmation of your Login application number and date of your registration will be sent to you once all relevant checks have been completed.

When you have an active Housing Registration you will be able to place bids on properties.

Letting Policy Revision   

ID requiredWe introduced some changes to the Lettings Policy on October 5th 2015. 

To register for Social Housing you will now need to provide I.D ( Identification) for all applicants and members of your household.


Please notePlease Note: Proof of child benefit is required for all children under 16 years old.

Housing Review

We are currently checking the details of everyone who is on the Sheffield Council Housing register.

If you have recently received a letter asking you to log on and check your details, please follow the instructions below:

  • Log into 'My Account' using your login reference and memorable date
  • Choose 'Social Housing application' from the menu and click 'Update your details'
  • Check the information carefully, make any changes necessary and click submit
  • If you do not have any changes, you must still click submit to register your response

Please Note: Some changes made to your registration will require you to submit I.D

Important noticeIf you do not respond, your housing application will be closed and you will have lost your waiting time. If you wish to apply again please log into your account using your original login reference and complete the on-line form.
